Mike De Luca is Vice President & Chief Financial Officer at SOUND. In his role, De Luca oversees the organization’s financial health and stability, directs its strategic financial planning, and manages its financial risks. He brings a unique perspective to his role, having developed a robust orientation in Lean management principles, particularly in healthcare finance and accounting, as well as clinical care delivery.
Prior to joining SOUND, De Luca served in finance roles with increasing responsibility at Group Health Cooperative, ultimately becoming the Executive Director of Finance. In 2014, he launched Torre Consulting, a Lean consulting firm specializing in finance, accounting, and revenue cycle management.
At the national level, De Luca has authored numerous finance and accounting articles, co-authored the book Practicing Lean Accounting, and is a sought-after speaker at national conferences, including the Lean Summit, Lean Accounting Summit, and Beyond Budgeting Conferences.
De Luca holds an MS in Finance from Seattle University, an MA in Russian and East European Studies from Indiana University, and a BA in Russian Language, Literature, and Linguistics from the University of Rochester. He is a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), from which he also holds the Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) designation, and is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt with the Management Strategy Institute.
