Clean Start

Clean Start consists of daily therapeutic groups, positive modeling and recreational activities designed to increase a client’s ability to independently access resources, be in the community successfully, and have positive socialization opportunities.

Who these services are for

Adults (any race, religion, gender, sexual-orientation) who are suffering from serious mental illness or substance use disorders and can benefit from having a safe, dry, day center where they can have a meal, get clean, socialize with others, and meet with a case worker, peer support, or clinician for mental health and substance use treatment.

Approach to care

The program uses a psychosocial model that — through a wide range of services — creates opportunities for individuals to experience enriching social connections, develop life skills and have opportunities for self-care and wellness.

  • Walking group
  • Food bank visits group

On-site services include:

  • Music, Art, Art Therapy Recovery, Team Building, Gaming, Ping-Pong and Other Recreational Groups
  • Yoga, Meditation, Mindfulness & Self-Compassion Groups

Additional values include a willingness to hear and consider all client opinions, advocacy for inclusive social and culture diversity, equal and fair treatment for everyone, and the belief that recovery, wellness and personal growth are possible for all.

Goals

By engaging in day-support services, clients will be able to focus on their own healing and growth with added community support from peer specialists and clinicians, to develop skills that allow them to successfully integrate into the community, gain greater independence and lead lives with dignity.
