The team of psychiatric providers at SOUND provides psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management for individuals with a range of mental health and substance use disorders. Psychiatric services are provided by psychiatric nurse practitioners, physician assistants and psychiatrists including psychiatrists specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry.
SOUND provides psychiatric services to children, adolescents, adults and their families including individuals who are struggling with mental health disorders, substance use disorders, developmental or intellectual challenges or dealing with trauma who want to improve their health and wellness, live self-directed lives, and reach their full potential.
Psychiatric services are provided as a part of an individual’s overall treatment plan in close coordination with the rest of the treatment team including therapists, case managers and peers. Psychiatric providers take a holistic approach to care and provide care in addition to medication management services.
We recognize that for many, reducing substance use can be more feasible than immediate abstinence. Sound embraces a harm reduction approach on the path to achieving abstinence, working with each client’s personal goals. Sound supports gradual progress toward healthier lifestyles, respecting the journey as an important aspect of our client’s recovery.
SOUND employs a rapid access, low barrier, harm reduction approach to opiate use, with the focus on getting people in front of a prescriber to start Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) as soon as possible when an individual requests it.
Medication services are also available for individuals with alcohol use disorder.
Services are recovery-oriented and focused on helping individuals and families gain stability, personal growth, resilience and tools for long-term self-direction so that they may reach and maintain their goals. We treat clients with empathy, to make them feel safe, seen, heard, validated and empowered.
Psychiatric services are provided in person and / or via telehealth across all SOUND outpatient clinics.
