TSP helps involuntarily detained individuals from King County hospitals or Evaluation and Treatment (E&T) facilities — often newly diagnosed — with discharge and reintegration into the community. TSP is a 30-90 day program focused on acute needs and connecting clients to vital resources.
TSP serves adults 18+ referred to SOUND by designated county providers (no direct referrals.) This voluntary program supports those unfamiliar with existing services who aren’t already enrolled with a publicly funded agency. SOUND works with individuals of any race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation struggling with mental health and/or Substance Use Disorder dealing with trauma who want to improve their health and wellness, live self-directed lives, and reach their full potential.
The TSP team’s primary goal is to help involuntarily detained individuals successfully transition home or to community settings. Additionally, TSP seeks to reduce the length of involuntary stays, prevent acute illness, high-risk behaviors, re-hospitalizations, incarcerations and other crisis responses. TSP’s services are recovery-oriented and focused on helping individuals and families gain stability, personal growth, resilience and tools for long-term self-direction. SOUND treats clients with empathy and understanding to make them feel safe, seen, heard, validated and empowered.
TSP operates from SOUND’s Capitol Hill site. Clinicians are primarily mobile, meeting clients wherever they are, whether that is in the hospital before being released or in the community after being discharged.
